Dem Attack Ad Targets Lungren

The cable TV spot is part of a series aimed at Republicans seen as vulnerable in 2012.

A national Democratic group has already set its sights on House Republicans it says are vulnerable to defeat in 2012, and U.S. Rep. Dan Lungren is on the list.

The House Majority PAC released a cable television ad Wednesday accusing Lungren, who currently represents Elk Grove, of pandering to the rich.

The ad flashes images of a mansion and jet plane as a narrator says, “Maybe you live here, or own one of these. If so, Congressman Dan Lungren just voted to give you a big tax cut…But what about the rest of us?”

The ad is part of a six-figure campaign targeting various Republicans during the August Congressional recess.

A spokesperson for the Natonal Republican Congressional Committee dismissed the ad.

"With a record of borrowing billions from China and punishing job creators, it’s no surprise Democrats are trying to hide from that record and divert attention from their devastating policies," said the spokesperson, Tyler Houlton.

Federal Election Commission records show the PAC spent about $600,000 in the last quarter opposing Republican candidates.
