No e-tran Bus Service on Memorial Day

Elk Grove's public transit system will not operate on Monday.

Commuters and other Elk Grove residents who use the city's bus service will have to find another way to get around Monday.

The city's e-tran bus service will shut down for Memorial Day, according to a notice on the city's website.

"Commuter Service, Local Service and e-van service will not be operating," the announcement says. "Regular service will resume on Tuesday, May 29."

City spokeswoman Christine Brainerd said the city's holiday service, which sometimes runs on Christmas or Thanksgiving, would not be operating on Monday.

Elk Grove e-tran riders, what do you think of this holiday shutdown? Does it inconvenience you, or is it no big deal? Let us know by posting a comment below.

Why not down to Grantline and then head back north along the freeway? Plus Kammerer will eventuallyRead More be widened all the way to I-5 and commuters can use that too. Take Grantline to Kammerer to Bruceville.
