Elk Grove Council to Again Talk Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan
A revised Climate Action Plan will be discussed by the Elk Grove City Council Wednesday.
After being thrown out in November, a proposed Climate Action Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions will come back before the Elk Grove City Council Wednesday night.
City staff have dialed back some of the requirements in the plan, which council members worried would scare away businesses.
"We're not going to reach our greenhouse gas (reduction goals) by putting mandates on businesses or people," then-Council Member Gary Davis said in November. "Reducing greenhouse emissions is a good thing, but I think the way we're going to get it done is land use decisions."
