Teens in Action - City Government 101

This first town hall meeting, with students invited from Monterey Trail High School, will be facilitated by Elk Grove City Councilman Gary Davis. “Civic knowledge is at an all time low among high schools students. In Elk Grove, we are going to change that by getting high school students directly involved in their city government. These students, after all, are the future leaders of our city, state, and nation,” states Davis.

The town hall meetings will provide an overview of Elk Grove City government’s interworkings with a specific focus on ways young people can take a more active role in shaping public policy in their local government. Students are asked to actively participate in an open forum discussion, bringing their thoughts and ideas for making Elk Grove great.
