Nottoli Elected Chair of Board of Supervisors

Supervisor who represents Elk Grove will lead meetings in 2012.

Elk Grove's representative on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors has been chosen for the ceremonial position leading that board.

Don Nottoli, who has served District 5 since 1994, was elected by his peers Tuesday as chair of the board of supervisors, according to a press release.

Nottoli's extra responsibilities on the five-person board are mostly ceremonial, and include presiding over meetings, recognizing speakers and acting on procedural matters, the press release said.

Susan Peters, who represents Fair Oaks and Carmichael, was elected vice chair.

The chair and vice chair are chosen at the start of every year.
