Friday is the final day to file to run for office in Elk Grove, and local races are filling up with hopeful candidates.
So far the biggest draw has been the mayoral race: This fall will be the first time voters directly elect the city's mayor, and so far eight candidates have been issued nomination papers to run.
Meanwhile, the slowest race to fill up has been the Elk Grove City Council's District 3. Incumbent Steve Detrick has filed to run, but so far no challengers have come forward.
Here's a look at the potential candidates, including those who have been confirmed to be on the ballot, those who have filed their paperwork but haven't been confirmed by the county elections office, and those who have pulled paperwork but not completed it (for school board and CSD races: the Sacramento County Elections Office won't release the finalized list until later this month, but will say who has pulled papers).
