VIDEO: Elk Grove Dad Spent 9 Months in Vietnamese Jail; Accused of Being a Terrorist

Quan was arrested upon arrival to his home country back in April, according to CBS.

Elk Grove resident and Mathematician Dr. Nguyen Quoc Quan received a congressional award Monday after spending nine months in a Vietnamese jail.

A member of Viet Tan, a non-violent democratic activist group, Quan was arrested upon arrival to his home country back in April, according to CBS Sacramento. He was accused of being a terrorist.

Thanks for the suggestion. The City is currently studying a new interchange off 99 and Whitelock,…Read More and the project is in our General Plan. We’re also updating the Elk Grove Blvd. onramp—currently one of the most outdated on 99 in the region. Work will begin this summer.
