Want to Run for City Council? File Starting Monday

Check back with Elk Grove Patch to find out who is running locally for Elk Grove City Council, mayor, school board and Cosumnes Community Services District.

Residents hoping to run for office in Elk Grove this November can file for consideration for inclusion on the ballot from July 16 through 5 p.m. Aug. 10. 

Several seats are up for grabs: Elk Grove will elect a mayor for the first time, and four candidates have said they'll run for the two-year position. Also up for election will be two seats on the Elk Grove City Council, three seats on the Cosumnes Community Services District Board of Directors, and four positions on the Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Directors.

The election is scheduled to take place Nov. 6.

If an incumbent does not file by Aug. 10, all other candidates have until Aug. 15 to file for that office.
