board members Tuesday chose Jacob Rambo, a state administrative law judge and alum, to serve out the remainder of the term vacated by former board member Pamela Irey.
Rambo will represent Trustee Area 6 in southwest Elk Grove through November 2012, when an election will be held.
He has coached football and served as a substitute teacher in the district, where one of his three sons is enrolled, according to a district press release. He worked for the U.S. Department of State in Afghanistan before becoming an administrative law judge for the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board in 2009.
Irey , citing health issues stemming from an accident she had with a bull while working at the Cal Expo in 2007.
