Kaiser Donates to Elk Grove Food Bank, School District

Grants will fund dental screening, immunization and a mobile food pantry.

The and will receive thousands of dollars from Kaiser Permanente as that group gives $1 million to various organizations and nonprofits.

"Kaiser Permanente has three objectives in its grants: the first is to improve access to health care coverage, health services and health education; the second is to support Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL) initiatives; the third is to help prevent community and family violence," Kaiser said in a press release.

Elk Grove's school district will receive $36,052 "to pay for dental screening and immunization clinics," while the food bank will be given $15,000 for "expansion of the mobile food pantry to serve seniors and migrant farm workers."

Kaiser is giving out 43 grants in all, according to the press release.
