Drivers may want to choose an alternate route through Elk Grove this afternoon, as parts of Elk Grove Boulevard and Elk Grove-Florin Road will be closed from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The Elk Grove Police Department announced on Twitter that the closures were due to Elk Grove High School's homecoming parade.
"Elk Grove Boulevard westbound between Williamson Drive and Elk Grove Florin Road will be closed," the department wrote. "Elk Grove Florin Road between Tralee Way and Elk Grove Boulevard will be closed."
Detours will be set up around the closures, the city said on its Facebook page.
