Elk Grove's first half-marathon begins and ends at the Elk Grove Auto Mall, and also includes a relay and 5K run.
Proceeds benefit the Elk Grove Youth Sports Foundation. Elk Grove Patch is cosponsoring the race along with Kaiser Permanente, The Running Zone and a host of other Elk Grove organizations.
With over 1,000 runners registered, prizes will be awarded in a number of age categories. Runners and spectators alike can enjoy free food, music and vendor booths.
