SureWest Picks Elk Grove HS Senior as Athlete of the Year
Carlee Gray received the honor from SureWest Sports.
A softball and basketball player at has been chosen as the 2011-12 SureWest Sports female athlete of the year.
Carlee Gray, a senior, "was a perfect mix of athletic talent and academic achievement," SureWest Sports wrote Thursday.
She averaged 16.9 points per game in basketball, was co-MVP of her league in softball, and had a 3.89 GPA, according to SureWest.

"You won't find a harder worker on the field or in the classroom," Thundering Herd softball coach Jeff Alexander told SureWest Sports.
Gray, who plans to attend George Washington University on a softball scholarship, will be a guest on the SureWest Sports radio show at 9 a.m. Saturday, on ESPN 1320 AM.
