Heat Ahead: Temperaturse to Soar Over 100 Saturday and Sunday

NOAA issues special weather statement; temperatures to remain high into next week

This weekend is going to be a scorcher, and it appears the heat will continue into next week, according to the National Weather Service.

In a special weather statement, the NOAA stated that strong, high pressure will remain over Northern California through the weekend, resulting in a prolonged period of hot temperatures that could potentially last into next week. The hottest days will be today (Friday) and Saturday.

In the statement, officials gave the following safety tips:

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day

  • Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle

  • Wear light weight, light colored clothing

  • The weather in Elk Grove is predicted as follows:

    Friday: Sunny and hot with a high near 104, clear with a low around 63.

    Saturday: Sunny and hot with a high near 105, mostly clear with a low around 65.

    Sunday: Sunny and hot with a high near 104, mostly clear with a low around 60.
