A Little Silver Lining to Bel Air Closure

Food bank gets 100 donated turkeys.

Old Towners upset at might be comforted to know that at least one local non-profit has benefited from the store's troubles.

During a tour of Elk Grove Food Bank Services this week, employee Deborah Luck showed Elk Grove Patch boxes of frozen turkeys Bel Air managers had sent over as they dismantled the store at .

"They gave us all their turkeys," said Luck—about 100 in all. "It was great because we usually only get turkeys during the holidays."

The Bel Air store's pharmacy will close Feb. 29, with all prescriptions transferred to the chain's location at . The last day to shop at the rest of the store is March 10.
