Elk Grove Women: What Do You Like About Yourself?

OK, so Elk Grove Patch doesn't usually go for these 'boost-your-self-esteem'-type stories, but we thought this post from a Huffington Post Stylelist blogger was pretty clever.

Anya Strzemien was sick of hearing female coworkers put themselves down for their appearance. So she decided to put an end to the "I'm so fat"s and other negative self-talk by putting a tip jar on her desk and calling it the "I Promise to Stop Saying Negative Things About My Body Jar." One mention of thunder thighs or frizzy hair and the speaker had to put a dollar into the jar.

This week, Strzemien's using the same principle to reward, not punish. Leave a kind comment about yourself on her blog between now and April 10, and the Huffington Post Media Group will donate $1 to Girls Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls.
