Top four spots for walking and biking in Elk Grove

Maybe these trails will inspire you to get out and about in this nice fall weather. Please respond with any of your favorites!

One of my favorite things about Elk Grove is how easy it is to get around…without a car. Don’t get me wrong: I am a true suburbanite and I love driving my SUV. But I spend a good amount of time outside walking the dog, running, biking with my kids, working out with my Moms In Motion team, etc.

I thought I’d share some of my favorite spots to do all this with you, in hopes that you might reply with some of your favorites. So here we go:

1. The sidewalk between my house and the elementary school. I ride this with my kiddos everyday and it puts us all in a better mood each direction.

2. Hill Park/ Del Meyer. The trail winds from Elk Grove Florin to Hill Park with a nice wide path, through a wildlife preserve of sorts. And it's one of the few paths we can find a few hills on in Elk Grove.

3. Whitelock/Franklin. Along one of our quieter main streets, Whitelock, is a nice wide path away from the street. Perfect for a bike ride with kids still learning, and there’s a Starbucks on both ends.

4. Sheldon High School. This path starts just North of Sheldon High school off Kingsbridge. It winds through a neighborhood full of mature trees, passing past several playgrounds with paved sidewalks.
