Elitha Donner Elementary School

Elitha Donner Elementary School is the only school in the Elk Grove Unified School District to maintain a score above 800 on the state's Academic Performance Index every year since the index was created. Named after a member of that unfortunate group of pioneers, the Donner Party—who is buried in Elk Grove—the school was founded in 1994 and its enrollment has since grown rapidly. It offers an accelerated learning program, and afterschool activities include chess, drama, choir and film classes.
