These young men somehow knew what to do TOGETHER, AS A TEAM. To any that may think organized sportsRead More is just about playing a game, I hope this is an example of the good things that come with teamwork, a valuable tool to use in life.

WHAT A WONDERFUL BUNCH OF KIDS
Dana P May 10, 2013 at 04:25 pm
Despite comments in the article indicating that the students didn't get "big heads" orRead More "walk around campus thinking they were heroes;" They WERE heroes! Well played!

This article seemed a bit light of factual information, it may be due to the lack of info presentedRead More to the press however there are many unanswered questions in my opinion. The biggest two being 1. Whose children did he tape? 2. How did this lout get children into his home in order to tape them while using his shower and toilet? I don't expect the children to be named but it'd be nice to know if the children were related to him, or was he inviting and luring kids not familiar to him randomly if it's the latter there should have been warnings put out to the public. I hope any follow up articles delve into his modus operandi a skosh more.

I didn't get any news on what happened behind Sams Club last night. I was driving south bound on hwyRead More 99 at approximately 2300 hours, I observed numerous of emergency vehicles approaching what looked like a field fire behind the storage unit facility.

2008? If there is a druggy house in my neighborhood, I hope it gets shutdown a little quicker thanRead More that.
Nina May 5, 2013 at 02:44 am
LOL @ Jolly Jo I'm not quite sure where the MISCOMMUNICATION came from here ??? The story is prettyRead More self explanatory. Possibly a language barrier or that the names are so close?? Nonetheless, whether 13 or 31 a rapist is a rapist and no one deserves to be raped. Especially a child.
Jolly Jo May 5, 2013 at 01:34 am
Reading comprehension is a beautiful thing. Can't wait for those who exhibited they don't have itRead More here pop up elsewhere decrying the lack of education in schools these days.
ylg May 5, 2013 at 12:49 am
The boy who went for help was 13, not the rapist.

Gutter Rats at it again. The old man probably could have taken them a few years ago. Maybe even nowRead More One on One. But we all know cowards never take a chance with One on One. Too risky. I hope the county jail inmates read the papers!

Looks like some fine upstanding young men. Their parents must be very proud.

One of the most common misunderstandings in America today. Freedom of speech. The ConstitutionRead More protects you against government intrusion on your right to speak as you wish. Patch websites aren't the government. They can place every limit they want on your right to comment and it aint a violation of your free speech rights. I get so tired of people crying about freedom of speech when they're in forums in which they are entitled to it. A rare instance when M. Legison and I agree.
M.Legison May 1, 2013 at 10:25 pm
Respectfully, DMS, you are mistaken. This is a privately owned site, the owners (a publicly tradedRead More corporation) have the right to restrict any form of speech they choose. Many people misunderstand the limits of free speech, so you're not alone.

I agree w/ Nina. Young adults should have mature role models who do not make sex "cool"Read More and should have either apologized to the girls for seeing his personal property, or could have turned it into a learning experience and moment to remind his athletes that if they are engaging an any sort of sexual behaviors, to be safe and use protection. Additionally, the school should (if they haven't already) hold a meeting with all staff (athletic and academic) and remind them that they are professionals, not friends of the students. Children today are not stupid, but glorifying poor behavior and justifying it, only encourages such behavior.
Nina April 24, 2013 at 01:23 pm
Sounds like one of these coaches who endeavor to stay young and be cool instead of being the roleRead More model they are entrusted to be! I personally agree with this mom. In these types of situations when an individual feels comfortable enough to make such comments like these to young girls, they are testing the waters to see how far they can go. Next you will hear about the coach having a sexual relationship with one of his players... I know these are strong words but respectively, he fits the “standard profile” of a pedophile. I know some of the other parents say they "support the coach believing he provides positive leadership" BUT even pedophiles are more often than not respected community members who goes to great lengths to present him/herself as an exemplary person. They develop a persona of goodness above reproach, thus thwarting any suspicion of wrongdoing, especially against a child, whom they have professed great care and concern. Parents, think about it -- what respectable adult has their condoms visible to not just the kids but to anyone that walked by? Why not in the glove compartment or trunk? Says a lot about his character, judgment and respect for himself and the school. Not to mention, instead of humbly not responding at all or saying something like, "at least you know your coach is safe" he says, "at least you know your coach is a pimp" ??? NONETHELESS, if he’s not “grooming”, he's walking a fine line and truly needs to get his [blank] in check.

Elk Grove is changing my first kid went to joseph Simms and the parents all looked and actedRead More professional, and now my youngest attends the the school and most some of the parents look like criminals. My home has been Burglarized twice and I have noticed tagging and a thug presence in the city over the past couple of years. Elk Grove need to return to a safe country Town with a police presence who will keep criminal neighboring residents out of this town florin !
John April 24, 2013 at 01:09 am
Sure? Which one is TEE-TEE? Bet you dont even know? Some stupid ass trying to act cool because heRead More can help get hardene criminals (family members) out of jail. Thats the problem with the movies, you silly folks think Django Unchained is a true story and is really happening out there! Sorry to say but not one family member of mine in court today.
DMS April 24, 2013 at 12:29 am
Tt You are correct about serial killers. There are a lot of mentally ill white people in the U.S.Read More The mentally ill black folk in my line of work that I have met are crack heads. Anyways that's besides the point. Elkgrove not being high class or a small town atleast anymore, the crime rate is due to young black males..."Fact"...I'm not saying everywhere but here. That was the discussion. Your talking about serial murders...now if you want to stay in Cali. The death row is 28 % black...24% white...but really this is off topic...you win, your the 9-5 baller...lol

I'm surprised the intersection of E. Stockton Blvd. and Bond Rd. wasn't mentioned as one of theRead More worst. Going east on Bond at this intersection, what with the curve in Bond and the resulting misalignment of the traffic lights, traffic crossing 2 lanes to turn left into Marketplace 99, is a driver's nightmare.
Reality Check April 2, 2013 at 06:47 am
The number one aspect of this story not being covered is how that kid got into the building past theRead More security. There's more than just "lobbyists" in those buildings in that area. try .Mil branches across the street! The security of those buildings is very important, that he got through should be EXTREMELY TROUBLING and the security spotlighted as a MISERABLE FAILURE The Cosumnes aspect is pure noise, I mean come on, someone is hanging, they're toast, there's no emergency here.

This is just another way the police can extort money. This doesn't solve any problems.

This is great. I have seen more traffic officers out here in Elk Grove. It's just so hard to catchRead More all the rule breakers. I moved here about 2 years ago and I thought that there was no law against using a cell phone here in Elk Grove I see people driving and carrying long conversations while driving and they are not all young ones many are over 60 that I see out here. It's amazing. Not to mention people texting what don't they understand about "its dangerous"
